On February 28, 2023, the New Braunfels Community Cat Coalition will be MERGING into The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area to make room for maximum efficiency and to SAVE MORE LIVES.
Since we work so closely with HSNBA, it only makes sense to become one so that tasks are streamlined and not duplicated. It is in the best interest of the animals we serve. We are excited about it, and hope that you are, too!
Communications and online systems/technologies will be moved over in the coming weeks, so please bear with us through the excitement of the merging process! We so greatly value our donors and Foundation grant funders, and are still in the process of notifying them of the merger’s effects on grants, donations, etc. Please also don’t hesitate to contact us with questions you may have! We will answer to the best of our ability and keep you abreast of news and updates as we receive it.
Here’s to bright new days ahead and happy reflection on all we have achieved together. Let the merger commence! And, of course, Happy National Spay & Neuter Month! Get ’em trapped, y’all, because #TNRWorks!
Each feral cat that goes through TNR clinic in New Braunfels is sterilized and vaccinated through our program. For those feral cats in New Braunfels that are unable to be returned to their original location, they are analyzed to see if they would fit into our working cat program.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the humane approach to addressing community cat populations, works. It saves cats’ lives, and it is extremely effective.
In a TNR program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, & ear tipped.
Scientific studies and communities with TNR programs are proof that TNR does work: it reduces and stabilizes populations of community cats.
